Memories of Tony. I will miss chatting to Tony, he was always friendly and really interesting to talk to. I come from a seafaring family so enjoyed hearing his tales of the navy and later sailing trips. He always had time to speak and had interests in so many things. I am so sorry to hear about Tony. What a lovely man he was. I loved his quiet yet cheery manner, and have very fond memories of sitting with you and Tony having coffee and biscuits. We shall always have the fondest memories of Tony at parties and gatherings over 45 years. His laugh, his hospitality and warmth. Tony was a great guy. I greatly enjoyed his company, his wit and sense of humour when we worked together on the U3A committee. I will remember his delightful and slightly mischievous sense of humour, his stories of your amazing life at sea, and his tales of life in the tobacco industry, which made a huge contribution to our history project. Tony was one of the nicest men I ever met. What a marvellous thanksgiving service. You and all the family must have poured your hearts and souls into making the service so special. Tony would have been unassumingly proud and we in the congregation could hear his many chuckles echoing around the building. Yes, we all will miss such a big personality who was yet at the same time so genuine…… I feel such a great privilege to have met Tony. Tony was a very inspirational person, he always seemed to know what to say. Warm memories of Tony, whom everybody liked, at rest now in a safe harbour. I have special memories of Tony, especially his sense of humour and his laugh. We have known you and Tony for over 54 years. Tony was always so cheerful, kind and hospitable. Over the years I have known you both, Tony’s interesting stories of your sailing exploits makes me realise you both had exceptional and wonderful adventures together. Your tenderness together, especially when I last saw you, showed your love.
